JTF and Legor Group President
Massimo Poliero is CEO of Legor Group S.p.A., President of the Jewelry Technology Forum and Vice-President of A.F.E.M.O.
Graduated in metallurgy, he subsequently became an “innovative expert in the jewelry industry”. His technical background makes him a profound connoisseur of the goldsmithery world: before becoming the leader of the family business he held R&D assistant roles (Balestra 1882 SpA), head of the casting department (Novi Srl) and production manager (Tecno Orafa Artigiana). He started his professional career in Leg.or as a technical manager, sensing the opportunity to invest in technology and research and transforming the company into an important economic reality.
His commitment revolves around the search for innovative solutions in the field of precious and non-precious metals and subsequently in the galvanic products sector, for which he acquired the necessary skills to develop a dedicated internal division (precious metals and derivative salts).
Since 1996 he has held the position of CEO and has overseen the opening of strategic branches in Turkey, Thailand, Hong Kong, Russia and the United States where he lived for two years. Today Legor Group is a successful multinational company recognized by the market as an expert consultant in metallurgy and chemistry.

Dr. Basso was Legor Group’s Head of Research and Development and Manufacturing Technology. In 2003 he was given the Award for Excellence in Research by the Santa Fe Symposium.
Precious Metals Laboratory Chamber of Commerce I.A.A. of Vicenza, IT
Elio Poma has been the technical director of the Precious Metals Testing Laboratory of the Vicenza Chamber of Commerce since 1984, the first institutional Italian laboratory and a reference point for Vicenza’s goldsmithing district. Teacher and technical expert in quality and certification of the goldsmithing sector, he works as a lead auditor for important certification bodies in the field of the management systems ISO 9000, SA 8000 and the accreditation system for test laboratories. He is a member of the Technical Committee of U.N.I.- the Italian standardization body, and of C.E.N., which sets the technical standard for the precious metals sector. He collaborates as a technical expert with MAP and with ASSICOR in drawing up legislative and regulatory guidelines. He has taken part in different national research projects for the goldsmithing sector as part of the program MURST-MICA “Pro.Art.”; exploiting products and processes in the precious metals sector; SAIME: devising innovative analytical systems to determine fineness in precious metal alloys.
R&D Manager Master Alloy – Legor Group S.p.A. – Bressanvido VI – IT
Andrea Friso is the R&D Manager of the Master Alloy division in Legor Group S.p.A. He joined the group in 2004, after graduating in Materials engineering with a thesis in innovative colored gold alloys.
As the R&D Manger, Andrea Friso acts as a liaison between the sales force, production area, and R&D, thanks to the extensive experience acquired on different product types and their positioning in different markets. He supports the sales division in defining the business/sales plan and its execution to reach objectives. Moreover, he works closely with the technical and R&D dept. in the development, enhancement and promotion of products.
Consultant in Research & Development
Dr. Jörg Fischer-Bühner holds a PhD. in physical metallurgy and materials technology of the technical university RWTH Aachen. Since October 2007 he is active in Research & Development with Legor Group Srl, Italy, and Indutherm GmbH, Germany. Before he was Head of the Physical Metallurgy and Precious Metals Research division of FEM, the German Research Institute for Precious Metals and Metal Chemistry.
