Additive Manufacturing – Digital and Sustainable Manufacturing for the Creative Industry
Marco Luigi Giuseppe Grasso
Additive Manufacturing technologies are becoming increasingly established as inherently digital production solutions, capable of addressing the diverse needs of today’s competitive landscape. By enabling the production of complex, high-value-added products, these technologies help reduce development and manufacturing times and costs, while at the same time improving resource efficiency and significantly reducing waste. The growing pervasiveness of Artificial Intelligence technologies represents a further enabling factor that is set to shape manufacturing competition in the years ahead, expanding opportunities for innovation across the entire value chain. In a constantly evolving environment, the creative industries — and the jewellery sector in particular — cannot overlook this technological dimension if they are to address future challenges by combining innovation, sustainability and design freedom.
